The first time you cut and root an apple, you often wonder how best to do it quickly. We will show you how to liberate the tasty and especially healthy fruit with little effort from its cores and really only remove the core casing - so none of the edible parts. Basically, first wash the apple thoroughly with warm water and dry it carefully.
Core the apple with a knife
- Place the apple with the stalk up on a sturdy chopping board. Pick up a short, thin and sharp knife to put it directly in the top of the apple, about one centimeter from the center. In this way you place it in the core housing. Push the blade all the way into the apple - until it arrives at the cutting board. Now carefully pull out the knife. Repeat steps 2 to 4 three more times - around the core of the apple. So now you have four cuts around the core of the apple that make a square. Trace the cuts again with the knife by pulling the cuts from one cut to the next. Take out the knife. Press the core case with your thumb out of the apple.
Tips
Alternatively, you can first halve or quarter the apple with a sharp knife and scrape the core out using a tea or melon spoon.
