Good anchorage is important for safety
Does a swing have to be anchored?
A swing frame, which by its own weight remains firm even during intense rocking, does not necessarily have to be anchored. However, the fewest racks are so heavy. Therefore, you should always anchor a swing well, for the safety of your children.
Which possibilities of anchoring are there?
The most durable and safest variant of anchoring is setting in concrete. You can either put the posts of the swing frame directly into the concrete or ground anchors to which you later attach the posts. Be sure to pay attention to a level parking space for the swing, which increases safety and stability in addition.
Anchoring without concrete
Much less work than setting in concrete makes anchoring without concrete. At the hardware store you will find ground shells that are hammered into the ground, or even turnable ground anchors. Before you bring the anchors into the ground, assemble the swing frame to find the right place for the anchors.
Both variants are particularly suitable when the ground is relatively solid but free of stones. In a very stony ground, you can screw in or hit ground anchors with difficulty. The same applies if there are many or particularly thick (tree) roots in the soil. If the ground is too loose, the anchors may not be enough.
Anchoring with concrete
If you decide to cast in the swing or ground anchors, then determine the exact location of the holes in the same way as if you intended to anchor easily. At the marked points, lift the ground about 50 to 60 cm deep.
Pour the concrete mixed in accordance with the instructions into the holes. Then place the swing frame in the moist dried concrete or just the ground anchors. Screw the rocking frame to the ground anchors only after the concrete has dried.

Tips
The lighter the swing frame, the easier it could tip over and the tighter it should be anchored.
