Zamioculcas gets brown leaves - causes and countermeasures
If the Zamioculcas zamiifolia or Lucky Feather suddenly gets brown leaves, it can put a whole bunch of causes behind it. Wrong water supply, too much or too little fertilizer, dry heating air or too high temperatures: All these pathological changes can usually be remedied with better care or another location.
Do not pour Zamioculcas too often
One of the most common problems with the Lucky Feather is overflowing. Zamioculcas is a succulent plant, d. H. she stores water in her rhizomes as well as in her fleshy leaves. Overflowing causes the leaves to turn brown and dry up, and the shoots show growth. The substrate, on the other hand, often smells musty. Cover affected plants, cut off mushy, brownish roots and place the Zamie in fresh substrate. Also, make sure you have good drainage.
Tips
In summer it is enough to water the Zamioculcas about every two weeks, in winter it only needs water every four weeks.
