The joy of the beautiful colors of the poinsettia often flies quickly when the leaves turn yellow. They fall off and the plant no longer looks beautiful or even threatens to enter. Why is it when poinsettias get yellow leaves?
Causes for yellow leaves on the Christmas star
Yellow leaves are always an indication of incorrect care. In most cases it is because the poinsettia is too damp.
Causes can be too frequent and strong pouring. Sometimes waterlogging occurs, because the pot has no vent hole or excess irrigation water is not immediately removed from the saucer.
To prevent the leaves from becoming yellow, pour the poinsettia only moderately. It must not dry out completely, but should only get water again when the top layer of potting soil is completely dried out.
Tips
Do not use too cold water to pour poinsettias. Do not pour the water directly onto the plant. Especially good you get rainwater.
