Pour christmas cactus with fingertip feeling
The casting of a Christmas cactus requires a bit of tact. During the flowering season, the cactus needs more water than in the rest period. Too much watering is harmful and causes diseases to develop, the leaves hang limp down or the Christmas cactus is completely absorbed.

From the end of the flowering period until the end of September, the Christmas cactus is always poured only when the substrate is dry at the top two to three inches. Do the thumb test!
Water so that the root ball is once completely moistened and then dry again.
Pour Christmas cactus during flowering
From November until the end of flowering period, pour the Christmas cactus regularly so that the root ball is always slightly moist. Never leave water in the coaster.
In the rest period, water only moderately
In October, make the Christmas cactus darker, so that many flowers develop. During this time, the plant is only moderately poured. The root ball should only be moistened, but should not completely dry out.
Setting up Christmas cactus protected outside
The Christmas cactus likes to go outdoors in the summer. However, you must protect it from too much moisture from rainwater. Best place it under a tab. Do not use coasters or planters that could trap water.
If it is very dry in summer, check if the root ball is still wet enough and pour accordingly.
Tips
For watering and spraying Christmas cactus you should use rainwater if possible. Low-limp tap water is also possible. If the water is too chalky, boil it off or leave it for at least a week.
