Only fertilized flowers produce seeds
In fertilized flowers of the Venus flytrap mature seeds
Venus fly traps are not drawn because of the pretty white flowers. The inflorescences are therefore usually cut off immediately. Only if you want to harvest seeds for the propagation of the Venus flytrap, you should leave some flowers.
Harvest seeds from fertilized flowers
In order for seeds to form in the flowers, they must be pollinated. In nature and usually in the room, this task is done by insects.
If you are worried that you do not have enough insects to pollinate, simply fertilize the flowers yourself. You will need a brush to stroke the carpels in the flower.
When the flowers bloom, seed capsules form, in which many of the black seeds ripen. They are ready to be shaken out.
Tips
Since the Venus flytrap is a monotypic species of carnivorous plants, there are no subspecies. That's why it's easy to make identical offshoots from seeds.
