Thinning tomatoes - this is how you attract larger fruits
There is no agreement between tomato plants and hobby gardeners. The plants want to branch out into the width - tomato friends prefer a one-seeded growth with big fruits. By properly thinning you keep the upper hand. Thats how it works.
Why do thinned tomato plants produce larger fruits?
Most tomato plants strive to branch out as broadly as possible. They want to produce many flowers and numerous small fruits to multiply. Tomato gardeners, on the other hand, pursue the goal of harvesting voluminous fruits. A targeted thinning is therefore inevitable to direct a tomato plant in the desired direction. Excess side shoots are to be removed; referred to in the jargon as an offender.
As a result, the plant does not waste its energy on bushy growth but on a limited number of flowers and fruits. Sufficiently supplied with water and nutrients, stately and aromatic tomatoes develop. Throughout the season, tomato plants are thinned out continuously because they do not give up so quickly. In nursing, this activity thus plays a central role.
Identify and thin out drives
