Smooth and rough side
Many pond sheets are equipped with different sides: a smooth side on the one hand and a rough or latticed structured side on the other.

The nature of the introduction of the film plays only a minor role for pond cleaning. You should provide a sufficiently sized cleaning and filtration system for most ponds anyway, no matter how you place the foil in the pond.
Tips
When installing the pond liner, always pay close attention to the manufacturer's installation instructions. In many cases, there are special things to keep in mind. Whenever possible, install the film in summer, the higher temperatures make the film much more flexible and easier to install.
