Pansies do not need much fertilizer unless they grow lazy
Pansies are weakworms
The pansies bloom enduringly without consuming large amounts of nutrients. The outdoor pansies are rich in humus rich in compost. The awake in balcony boxes plants may require occasional and economical fertilizer in the main flowering period.
The pansies are small plants that are frugal in care and rich in flowering. Among the ancestors of the popular garden pansy u. a. Wild pansy that grows in nature on meadows and fields and is quite hardy. The garden pansy therefore survives the wet, dry or even frosty periods usually harmless.
Create good starting conditions
The pansies are easily preferred to seeds. The rearing takes place in the summer in the field or in the winter in a frost-free room. The self-grown plants are more resistant. Of the ready-bought plants, the pansies that are available in the fall are to be preferred to the greenhouse products offered in the spring.
As a substrate, the usual potting soil for pot plants or mixed with compost, humoser, preferably lime garden soil, which can be mixed with some horn chips. Horny violets prefer stony soil as they are originally from the Pyrenees. For garden pansies, a soil rich in nitrogen and bases with a pH of 6.5 to 8 is ideal. A constant supply of water without waterlogging ensures, in addition to the sunny or partially shaded location, perennial flowering.
Only fertilize moderately
The pansies, which grow in boxes, bowls and pots, may show blooming after some time. Especially those specimens that may remain in the plant containers beyond the first few months of spring. These plants can be supplied with liquid fertilizer every two to four weeks. Much more important for the lasting flowering pleasure as fertilizer is the regular cleaning of the withered flowers.

Do not put your sprouted pansy plants on the compost immediately, but transplant them into the garden. At a suitable location, you may be rewarded with new, self-sowing plants.
