Plan and design a rock garden with a pond
A garden pond is a quiet zone: Here the eye can linger, the dragonflies watching while dancing or the frog hunting for flies. Therefore, ponds belong as far as possible in sight, for example in the vicinity of a terrace or other seating. A natural and therefore perfect combination is the pond, stream and rock garden.
Location and material
However, the garden pond should not possibly be in full sun and at least over lunch time in the shade. Too much light promotes algae formation, which pollutes the pond water and makes life more difficult. Experts therefore recommend a location where there are about five to six hours of sunshine on summer days. To seal the pond, it is best to use foil, because the commercially available, prefabricated pools are too small.
Lift out the pond and seal with foil
Basically, the bigger a pond, the better. Larger ponds are able to sustain themselves without much technical assistance - smaller ones can not and therefore always need a filter and pump system. On the other hand, if you want to combine the pond with a creek anyway, you can hide the pump necessary for the creek in or near the pond. Also make sure that there are no pipes or pipes under the planned pond. When digging and sealing the pond bed, proceed as follows:

Tips
If the garden pond is deep enough (about two meters or more), you can also keep Japanese carp (koi) and goldfish there. Especially Kois can even be quite tame.
