Anemone coronaria - the crown anemone - is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful species of its kind. Its care needs are similar to those of the other types of anemones. This ensures that crown anemones unfold their full splendor in the spring.
How often does the crown anemone have to be cast?
After planting the pretty spring flowers are poured. Since the soil usually still has enough residual moisture in the spring, you rarely need to water the plant.
Waterlogging you do not get. Make sure that the ground is loose.
Can crown anemones be transplanted?
Since the non-hardy anemone coronaria is dug up in the autumn anyway, transplanting does not make sense. But you can pull the onions in the pot and dig the pots into the bed. If they are then unfavorable, the crown anemones can easily move.
How is the anemone coronaria cut?
The leaves should not be removed as the crown anemone will gather strength for the next flowering. Only when they are yellow and the tubers are removed from the ground, cut off the leaves.

Anemone coronaria is not hardy. To be on the safe side, dig up the bulbs in the fall and keep them in a frost-free place.
At the beginning of the new garden year, the onions are then replanted.
Tips & Tricks
Anemone coronaria is best used if you put several onions next to each other in the bed. Especially the multicolored varieties are perfect for tulips and forget-me-nots.
