Transplant rosemary - very easy
Rosemary (botanical Rosmarinus officinalis) can reach a considerable size: in its Mediterranean homeland, plant heights of about two meters are not uncommon. For this reason, the vigorous - but nevertheless slowly awake - shrub is often used for the planting of hedges. In our climate, a rosemary reaches heights of about one meter, but has to be regularly repotted due to its continuous growth.
Transplanting in the garden
Transplanting a rosemary planted in the garden can be necessary for a variety of reasons, be it because the shrub is too large, the location is not optimal or for creative reasons. Basically, it is possible to use a rosemary, but you should consider this step well before. Rosemary is pretty capricious, unpredictable and you never know how your bush will react. Repot rosemary
Rosemary should be placed in a larger planter every two years. The new pot is the optimal size if it is about one third larger than the plant.
Tips & Tricks
When repotting, pay more attention to brown plant parts, white spots, cobwebs or food marks - these are a sign of a pest infestation.
