Roses need nutrient-rich and humus-rich soil
Roses are among the most popular ornamental plants, no wonder, because their beautiful flowers are unrivaled. At the same time, however, the flower is considered quite demanding in terms of care and location. At least with respect to the right earth, this statement is not quite right.
Special rose earth not necessary
In the trade, there are special rose soil to buy, whose composition and nutrient content is perfectly tailored to the needs of the "queen of flowers". However, it is not absolutely necessary to buy this special soil. For pot roses, you can even make a suitable mixture of normal garden soil, compost and potting soil (in equal parts) (do not forget the drainage!), Garden roses are best in nutrient-rich, humus-rich and well-drained soil. Most roses prefer loamy soil.
Prepare soil thoroughly before planting
However, the best soil does not benefit the rose if it has not been dug up and loosened before planting. In doing so, you should work as profoundly as possible, because as deep roots, roses also need loose soil in the depths.
Tips
Even garden soil (especially if it is rather sandy) can be improved with compost earth or other humus substances before planting.
