Why do roses get brown leaves?
The rose, often referred to as the "queen of flowers", is unfortunately quite susceptible to various fungal diseases. However, this can be prevented by choosing a less sensitive strain and the right precautions.
Various fungal diseases cause brown leaves
If the rose petals get large, blackish-brown spots, often the star soot caused by the fungus Diplocarpon rosae - one of the most common rosacea diseases - is behind it. If, on the other hand, it is initially orange and later brownish spots, the rose rust has infested your roses.
Treat infested roses properly
Basically, affected areas are to be removed as soon as possible with the rose scissors. However, the infected leaves and shoots do not belong to the compost but to the household waste. In severe cases, a chemical treatment may be useful because the roses are already completely unleavened in midsummer.
Tips
Prevention is better than cure: always pour roses from below, the leaves must not be wetted or must be able to dry quickly. That's why an airy location is so important! Also relevant to the health of roses, in addition to the appropriate care, also the right floor and a sunny, but not too warm place.
