So you cultivate the rose as a houseplant
Roses - the "queen of flowers" and the symbol of romantic love - are extremely interesting plants, since they are available in a virtually inexhaustible variety of colors, shapes and sizes. If the location and care conditions are right, then many rose varieties can also be cultivated as indoor plants.
Which varieties of roses are suitable for a room culture?
Naturally, low roses in particular are considered for such a project. Shrub- or even climbing roses can develop shoots up to four or five meters long and are therefore not suitable for housing purposes in terms of size. Also many Edelrosen can become quite large and are therefore better off in a garden bed. For a pot culture, however, are most types of Beetrosens, as they are a maximum of 60 to 70 inches high. In addition, there are now a variety of miniature roses on the market, which were bred specifically for the culture on the balcony or in the room.
Selection of a suitable location
Whatever rose you choose, all varieties have one thing in common: in terms of their preferences for location and care, the rookies want to be treated as well as their free-ranging conspecifics. In terms of location, this means that even rooftops prefer a bright, airy space. However, roses do not like direct sunlight, especially the midday sun can tamper the sensitive plants during the hot summer months. Ideal would be a bright place on a windowsill in eastern or western orientation.
The right care for rookies
Like garden roses, room roses are not necessarily easy to care for, at least if you want to cultivate them for longer than just a few weeks or months. Many rooftops only last for one flower season and then have to be disposed of. Many providers educate special rookies, which are bred so quickly that they are exhausted after a short time and come.
