Roses are cultivated mainly for their beautiful flowers. All the more annoying, if the rose bush does not bloom then.
Inappropriate location / too humid weather
A common reason for the lack of flowering is a wrong location. Roses only bloom lusciously when they feel good - and they do so mainly in a sunny to partially shaded, not too hot, but airy spot. The soil should be rich in nutrients, permeable and neither too firm nor too sandy. Before planting, it is beneficial to dig up the soil profoundly and loosen it up properly. In addition, the "queen of flowers" needs a lot of space, she is reluctant to compete with other plants. Therefore, you should absolutely follow the recommended planting distances! In addition to these reasons, too wet (for example, due to poor drainage) soil or a wet over weeks, rainy weather can be the cause.
Roses are not allowed to follow roses
Under no circumstances should you plant roses in a location where a rose plant has previously been. This rose will most likely only grow very puny and / or not bloom. The concrete reason for this "rose tiredness" of the soil has not yet been explored, but you can counteract this with a soil exchange.
Wrong care or cut
Even a wrong care can cause the rose does not bloom. Roses need a lot of water - even if they do not necessarily like it wet - and as a starvation also a regular fertilization. In particular, just before flowering, you should water your roses vigorously, so that the flower does not dry the buds out of lack of water. When fertilising, be careful not to use too nitrogenous fertilizer - a lot of nitrogen will encourage the plant to grow vigorously, but will prevent flowering. When it comes to cutting, too, you can fall into such a trap, because in the case of roses blooming on perennial shoots, many an ignorant gardener accidentally cut away the flower shoots in the spring.
Pests or fungal infection
In particular, if the rose has numerous buds, but do not want to rise, but seem to rot, so often stuck either an infection with various possible fungi or a pest infestation behind.
Tips
Before embarking on the search for the cause and possibly even unnecessarily implementing your rose, you should find out the specific type or variety of your rose. Some roses do not bloom on young shoots, but only on perennial wood. If you have caught such a rose, you only need two to three years patience, then your rose will bloom.
