Not much has to be done in the propagation method over shoots. For the most part, the dwarf medlar takes over this responsibility on its own. In late autumn you can separate the foothills from the mother plant. At their new location, they need about 1 year to grow.

Experimental gardeners will find a long-term procedure for sowing. That's how it's done:
Cuttings: Reliable and proven
By means of cuttings the dwarf medlar is easy to propagate. The branches, which are cut between February and April, can be used. But: The mature shoots are only suitable for multiplying the evergreen dwarf medlar species. They should be about 8 cm long and are stuck in the ground for rooting. Optimal is a high humidity. You can, for example, put a plastic hood over the cuttings.
Summer-green species are propagated via semi-mature shoots. They are taken in the early or mid-summer by the dwarf medlar. If you plant the cuttings after they are rooted in the nursery or home, put a gift of compost in the planting hole.
Absenker: That may take a while
This proven groundcover can also be increased by lowering. This happens in spring or autumn. It can take up to two years for the cutters to be rooted and separated from the mother plant.
The simplest and fastest propagation methods for the cotoneaster are those over cuttings and stolons.
