In the forest, mushrooms often make the hearts of gourmets beat faster. While the targeted cultivation of mushrooms in the garden is sometimes difficult, small mushrooms in the lawn can sometimes disturb the garden look. But you can get rid of them with targeted countermeasures.
Identify the requirements for fungal growth in the lawn
Fungi often grow on grassy areas where waterlogging has formed. If the waterlogging is not due to the soil conditions, it can also be caused by a too regular watering of the lawn. In this case, the following measures should be taken:
Turf as a source of fungal growth in the garden
Particularly common is the problem of fungal growth in the lawn with relatively freshly laid turf. This is often bred on freshly composted humus, which is enriched with the smallest pieces of wood. These favor the growth of so-called mycorrhizal fungi. With the turf spores reach the garden property. If the turf, which has not yet grown together with the subsoil, is then thoroughly watered, it often takes only a few days for the mass emergence of undesirable fungi.

Permanently combat persistent fungus infestation
Fungal attack in the lawn can sometimes be a persistent problem that should be tackled on several fronts at the same time. If measures such as frequent mowing or limited watering do not work, the soil can be better aerated with a scarifier. In addition, an acidic soil favoring the fungi can be influenced by adding lime in such a way that the ph value increases to an unfavorable value of up to 6.9 for the fungi.
