When does the phlox bloom?
There are so many different types of phlox that with the right selection you can enjoy a rich sea of flowers in your garden all summer long. The variety of colors of the flower leaves nothing to be desired.
Early-flowering species such as the upholstery phlox already start flowering in April, while late-flowering varieties will last until autumn. Among these varieties is the perennial phlox, which can grow up to a meter high.
Extend the flowering period
If you want to enjoy the flowers of your phlox for a very long time, cut off some flower stalks about one third of the length before flowering. These stems have to grow again before they start to bloom.
Tips & Tricks
Phlox likes to self-assemble. If you want to prevent this, then cut it back after flowering. The seeds can then be sowed in a controlled manner.
