Pull a peach tree out of the core itself - that's how it works
Most fruits, especially apples, cherries, plums and even pears, are not that easy to grow from a seed kernel. Fortunately, this type of propagation of peaches usually works quite well, but not all varieties are suitable.
Pick core peaches
From the vast majority of peaches you will be able to pull plantlets, but these remain rather small and puny and will bear no fruit. In order to grow a peach tree yourself from a kernel, you need a so-called kernechte variety.Kernel means that the characteristics of the mother plant are transferred to the seedling - not necessarily common in the plant world, because seeds like to develop mutations. These varieties are also referred to as "wild peaches".

The core has to rest in winter
To turn a peach kernel into a stately peach tree, you need to bring a lot of care and, above all, patience. In contrast to other plants, a peach kernel can not simply be placed in potting soil, and within a few weeks the first leaf shoots are already visible - on the contrary. Before it can germinate, a peach - not only the core but also the tree - first needs hibernation. This means you can eat a delicious pear kernel in the fall and then pack the core (better several) into a box of wet sand. The box is best in a place where it is dark and cool - optimally would be a cellar.
Plant seeds in spring
After the "winter break" called "stratification" you can now plant out the cores. A direct sowing in a slightly shady, humid and sheltered place is possible. The cores should be covered with earth about two centimeters. Alternatively, you can of course use the seedlings in a pot with potting soil. The earth should always be kept as moist as possible.

Incidentally, the actual seed core is inside the stone. You can crack the wrap and bring out the almond-shaped core to improve germination.
Tips & Tricks
It's even easier if you have a compost. Then throw the peach pits onto the compost and then be rewarded automatically with shoots in spring.
