The plant family of the Passiflora is very large: more than 500 different species belong to it, but they all have the beautiful, very showy flowers in common. The flowering time of the individual passion flowers can differ in detail, but always extends over several months.
Passion flowers are summer bloomers
Passiflora cultivated in this country, so the botanically correct name of the passion flowers, begin their flowering period from about May / June - and often show their splendor into September. The individual flowers are only one to two days old, where they can close in some species overnight.
