What planting distance should be observed for pampas grass?
Pampas grass is very fast growing. In a gardening season, it brings the inflorescences of an adult plant to a good three feet high. For this, the ornamental grass needs plenty of space and plenty of nutrients. The planting distance to other plants therefore plays an important role.
Maintain sufficient planting distance
In order for the pampas grass to spread well and develop the decorative inflorescences, keep a planting distance of 1.00 to 1.20 meters. Otherwise the ornamental grass displaces smaller plants or does not even get enough nutrients.
Even if you want to create a screen made of pampas grass, you should leave a meter of space between the ornamental grasses.
But best of all pampas grass comes into its own when you plant it individually, for example as an eye-catcher on a large lawn.
Tips
The best season for pampas grass is the spring after the sacred ice. Then the non-toxic ornamental grass has plenty of time to settle in properly at the site.
