Is the palm leaf hardy?

Neither too much rain nor waterlogging tolerates them for a long time.
The filamentous palmlilie (Yucca filamentosa) is hardy to about - 15 ° C. Only at lower temperatures does it need winter protection. Originally from North America, it is just as easy to care for as the other palm trees. She prefers sunny and warm, like on the south side of the house. The flowering period lasts from about June to October.
Give your yucca filamentosa enough space, it reaches a diameter of a good meter. The beautiful inflorescences are up to three meters long. After flowering, cut off the inflorescences. Yucca filamentosa does not like strong or cold wind. Before that you should protect your plant well, especially in winter.
The wintering of potted plants
Since potted plants are usually much more sensitive to frost than plants in the garden bed, you should also better protect them. Wrap the plant with a bubble wrap or special fleece, which you can get from the garden shop. Hibernation in a greenhouse or conservatory is also recommended here.
Buckthrow plants usually do not grow as tall as free-range plants, so they do not require excessive space in their winter quarters. Even in winter, always water your palm leaves when the soil is dry.
