In rooms with a humidity of less than 50 percent, every orchid bud dries up. So spray the tropical bouquets regularly with soft water and place humidifiers in the vicinity.

If the water balance of an orchid is out of balance, it is primarily the buds that have to pay for it. Waterlogging causes root rot, causing the transport of water and nutrients to stop. In the early stage, the delicate flower buds dry and fall off. Please spice the orchid immediately into dry substrate. The softened, rotten root strands cut off on this occasion with a disinfected knife.
Short-term dryness can handle most orchid species easily. If the condition persists for a long time, the buds shrivel and any hope of a lush flowering time is gone. Water or dip your orchids regularly. In summer, a dip per week usually covers the need, while in winter the pouring intervals are extended to 2-3 weeks.
Tips
Orchids should not be in a room with a fruit basket containing apples, pears or similar fruits. These fruits release the ripening gas ethylene, which ages the buds prematurely. Even before they can bloom, they fall off again.
