Vigorously wake orange tree regularly prune

Like almost all citrus plants, the orange tree is an evergreen plant. Therefore, every pruning is associated with a foliage loss. However, this loss is compensated so quickly by the next budding that you need not shy away from grabbing the scissors. Also, you do not need to grieve when individual fruits fall victim to the cutting measures. The remaining ones will only get bigger.

Educate an orange tree to a high tribe?

If you have received a small, bushy young plant and want to grow a stem, a half or a high stem from it, please keep in mind that straight stems can become too big for conventional conservatories after a few years. Oranges are very vigorous, so that a height of three to four meters in a high strain is not uncommon. In an upbringing for the bush, such a tree would only have a height of 40 centimeters plus 10 centimeters trunk plus two meters crown, in total about 2.5 meters.

Cut an orange tree into shape

The shape cutting is best done at the end of the growing season. Do the following:

In a shape cut is always cut on Astring, that is, the branch to be removed is cut up to the trunk from which it springs, or to a strong branch (Nebenast). There must be no stumps left. These would only dry up or provide the Botrytis fungus with high humidity a target area.

Tips & Tricks

If the shape cut is done regularly in the fall, you will save yourself the rejuvenation cut completely. Regulating cuts in the summer with impulses that wake too much from the crown sometimes even save a shape cut in autumn.
