The only coniferous wood is the popular pine (Araucaria heterophylla), which is native to the subtropical Norfolk Island of Australia. Location and substrate
The room fir needs a bright, but not directly sunny and cool location. Do not put the tree directly in front of a window or on the window sill, as it will quickly get too hot there. In summer, you can also put the pot on the balcony or terrace. As a substrate, choose a low-lime houseplant soil that is slightly acidic at best. Rhododendron earth is also very suitable.

In summer, the substrate should always be kept slightly damp, avoiding waterlogging. Fertilize the room fir every two weeks with an attenuated rhododendron fertilizer and turn it into fresh substrate every two to three years. In winter, the tree should be kept cool and frost-free at about 10 ° C.
