Marguerites hibernate - everything you need to know
Many daisies are badly hardy. Are they in the pot or are they generally as sensitive as stems, then they should be wintered for their survival. But how does that work?

Before the first frost sets in - between the middle and the end of October - the sensitive little ones are brought to their winter quarters. This should be like this:

Daisies that have been planted and that are frost-tolerant should be protected if you are in a harsh, unprotected location. Even if extreme frost temperatures threaten, winter protection is recommended. As protection in the root area and around the shoots are suitable:
Preparation for wintering - not to neglect
The preparation for wintering is the A & O. It starts already in late summer. From the end of August / beginning of September you should no longer fertilize your daisies. If you do that anyway, the strong nutrient supply prevents the shoots of the plants from ripening. This makes them much more susceptible to frost.
You should also cut back your daisies just before you go quartering or wintering. Take a sharp pruning shears at hand and cut the plants back about a third. Even old leaves and flowers should be removed on the occasion.
During the hibernation
During the wintering of the daisies the plants should never dry out. They must therefore be poured from time to time. Pour sparingly is the motto here. Fertilizer should be completely dispensed with.
Tips
Check the daisies regularly during the winter for pests and diseases!
