The fat and the poor-meadow marguerites
These two Margeritenarten are probably the most common in wild meadows in this country. The Magerwiesen-Marguerite is branched and has several flower heads per stalk. She loves nutrient-rich soils and prefers to grow on meadows, fields and pastures. It is also known as Meadow Spooky.
In contrast, there is the fat-meadow marguerite, which is also native to Europe. It has unbranched stems and comparatively large flower baskets. Its flowering period starts in May and lasts until October. Their stature height is between 50 and 100 cm and their foliage is dense.
The shrub marguerites
A rather unusual specimen of a marguerite is the shrub marguerite. Unlike the other species that are short-lived and herbaceous, this species is long-lived and evergreen. Their growth is very different from that of other species.
There are the shrub margins even as Hochstämmchen with a height of up to 150 cm. The shrub marguerite is suitable for both tub and outdoor cultivation. Its flowering period is from May to October.
Tips
Not all daisies are sufficiently hardy. Rethink before buying, if you can also hibernate a frost-sensitive daisy!
