From April, the dandelion shows its golden yellow flowers

Dandelion - most dangerous after flowering

With its bright sun-yellow flower color, the dandelion likes to cover whole regions. Who does not know them, these flowers, which are sometimes referred to as buttercups or cowflowers? But when do they appear?

Flowering time: April to June and after

The main blossom of the dandelion starts in early April. The individual flowers are present for several days - close at night, rain and dryness - before they fade. By the end of June / beginning of July, the flowering season continues. Often there is a post-bloom in late summer.

Isolated flowers may then appear until the autumn. Both before and during the flowering season, the perfect harvest time for the dandelion (blossoms eg for salads, syrup) has come.

This is how the flowers look!

Here are the features of the dandelion flowers, which you can see them well:

Attention: After that the seeds spread!

Blooming, the dandelion is less of a danger. But after the heyday it says: Caution! As soon as the seeds are touched only lightly, the seeds fly away and ensure the reproduction. If you have a garden and want to remove the dandelion, you should do that before or during flowering!

Tips

The early flowering time and the high content of nectar and pollen makes the flowers of the dandelion particularly valuable for the bee world and consequently for beekeepers.
