Lychee has season especially in the winter months
The rather inconspicuous-looking lychee or Lychee convinced by their aromatic, a grape-like taste. The fruit is known and popular as a canned fruit, but also ripe, fresh lychees are delicious. They are available in the supermarket, especially in the cold season of the year.
Litchi have season from November to March
Fresh lychees are available mainly in the period between November to March in German supermarkets. These lychees are mostly from South Africa or Madagascar, where the seasons are contrary to those in Europe - is winter with us, the South African summer, the exotic fruit is harvested. The fruits are the more aromatic, the darker their shell is.
Tips & Tricks
Lychees from Israel are available in Germany in July and August. These fruits are particularly suitable for growing a lychee tree, since the midsummer climate germinates the plantlets best.
