Copper rock pear grows shrubby and becomes 3-4 meters high. The wind- and frost-resistant shrub grows best in the sun or in the light shade on any garden soil, requires little cut and is appreciated for its beautiful foliage color.
Copper pear usually grows as a shrub, can also be trained by a targeted cut to the Hochstamm. The leaves of the copper rock pear are bronze to coppery in spring, later green and turn yellow, orange or deep red in autumn. In April, just before the leaves are released, the copper-pear pear is dotted with a shell of white flowers, from which small globose, blue-black fruits develop in autumn. The shrub has the name "currants tree" to thank them.
