Especially in Central and Northern Europe, in the Caucasus and in West Asia, but partly also in Southern Europe and North Africa, the creeping Günsel, an old medicinal plant of the mint family, is often found wild. The plant is remarkable for its bright blue to violet-blue flowers.

The creeping Günsel (Ajuga reptans) is found mainly in light to partially shaded locations with moist and nutrient-rich soils, where it spreads rapidly over a large area. You will find the plant mainly on meadows, in sparse deciduous forests, at forest edges, on hedges and shrubs and on edges of fields.
