There are several options to surround a pebble bed
The right surround for the pebble bed
Pebble beds not only look very chic and modern, their maintenance effort also keeps within manageable limits. No wonder that more and more garden fans opt for this variant. Without bed enclosure, which limits the gravel, it is rare here. But which lawn edge is suitable and fits the optics?
Attractive edge stones
Concrete edge edging stones prevent gravel from getting into the adjacent areas. There are stones that finish at ground level and variants that are placed vertically in a sand or mortar bed. These are a few inches higher than the bottom edge and are therefore better than flush laid boundaries.
The relocation
Vertical lawn edge stones almost always have to be concreted, because only a loamy, very heavy ground provides sufficient support. Below are the individual steps:
Lawn edges made of steel
These blend visually very well into modern landscaped gardens. They are made of stainless steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, aluminum or antique steel with a beautiful morbid patina. This almost indestructible enclosure is designed so that an additional anchoring is usually not necessary.
The relocation
Very attractive: the boundary of natural stone
This frame picks up on the appearance of the pebble bed and therefore harmonizes very well. Unfortunately, this variant is not the most expensive. Made of cement stone casting looks like the natural stone edge confusingly similar, but is much cheaper.
Tips
Vertical lawn edging stones have the disadvantage that they can not mow directly at the boundary with a lawn mower and always have to work with the trimmer. Lay a row of ground-level keystones in front of the vertical, and catch the last straw.
