Search for a secure location
Even if the Kentia palm is not a danger to the cat itself, you should ensure that the palm tree is placed in a child- and cat-safe location.
If the cat is working on the fronds, it can outline the plant and injure itself. Even for the Kentia palm, accidental popping would not be particularly beneficial, especially if it damages the long taproots.

You are welcome to put Kentia palm trees outside during the summer. But make sure that the temperatures are high enough at night. If they sink below 16 degrees, brown spots develop on the fronds.
