Cut jasmine better in the spring
The best time to prune jasmine is spring. Nevertheless, it may be necessary to cut the plant before winter, otherwise it simply does not fit in the winter quarters.
When pruning before wintering, only trim those shoots that are really in the way. In no case cut into the old wood, because that takes the jasmine really bad.
Only if you get the jasmine back to warmer temperatures after the winter break, a moderate pruning makes sense.
Tips
Most jasmine species are climbers. Maintain them on a trellis where the tendrils can climb themselves or you can tie them up. This saves unnecessary cutbacks before the winter break.
