The season of honeydew melon
The melon is the smaller relative of the watermelon and usually tastes much sweeter than this. Today, honey melons are usually available throughout the year through the world-wide scattered production areas.

Honeydew melons can be obtained at reasonable prices in this country if harvest time is available in the European production areas. This is the case from about May to September in the following countries:
Honeydew melons are available in many supermarkets but also almost all year round. In the winter months, these fruits usually come from countries of origin such as Mexico, Brazil and Costa Rica.
Honeydew melons from own cultivation
Honeydew melons can be cultivated with good care in this country. Due to the cooler weather than in the usual growing areas, the seedlings must be preferred on the windowsill and then planted in the warmest possible location. If grown outdoors, you will normally be able to harvest ripe fruits at the earliest in the fall.
Tips & Tricks
If you have a greenhouse in the garden, then you should plant the honeydew melons in it and let it grow into the air. The equally warm temperatures increase the chance of a good harvest.
