The Haworthia is an ornamental plant that belongs to the family of the Affodillgewächse. The plant is native to southern Africa. There are a number of Haworthia species that differ in size, color and shape.

From the Haworthia so far over 160 species have become known. The different varieties are sometimes very different. Common to all is that they form rosettes, in some species only one, in others several.
The plant is very frugal and grows in their home in rocky regions mostly in the shade of other plants.
