Build fire bowl yourself - A guide for the home improvement
There are many different types of fire bowls to buy - in both more expensive and cheaper versions. However, many do-it-yourselfers prefer to forego the finished virgin material and use old stainless steel remnants for the production of an individual fire bowl. This is not easy, at least if the shell should have feet - in this case you need a welder and the corresponding craftsmanship.
You need these materials
For a fire bowl, you can recycle various metal objects or materials. However, the metal must be absolutely fireproof, at best, you access to stainless steel. This very heat-resistant material also has the advantage that it is weather-resistant and therefore more durable than other metals. Basically, each bowl-like vessel made of stainless steel is suitable for a fire bowl, for example
A dished bottom made of stainless steel you get in various sizes in the trade, but it is often not much cheaper than a ready-made fire bowl. You can also continue to use the drum of a disused washing machine and, for example, convert it into an original fire basket.
If the fire bowl should get feet, you also need three stainless steel tubes in the desired length.
Fire bowl without welding
If you want to save the welding, you can simply use the fire bowl without feet. To do this, prepare the base for the planned fire fireproof: strip off the surface, lift off the sward and dig a hole about ten centimeters deep. This fill up with gravel you are pounding well. Now place a few larger, refractory bricks in such a position that the fire bowl will lie on top of them instead of on their feet. The shell must sit securely and must not wobble.

Always wear safety goggles, long clothing and sturdy shoes when welding! Otherwise, sparks can cause serious injury, such as when you see them.
