Fennel tastes best as fresh seasonal vegetables
Not only in the form of fennel tea, the green tuber of fennel can be used to promote one's own health. Even as fresh vegetables, fennel is a digestible ingredient for mixed vegetables and purées. Its season, depending on the cultivation in Central Europe usually extends from June to October.
Staggered sowing for a longer season
If you sow the fennel in your garden at two or three different times, you can enjoy the harvest season in the summer and fall accordingly longer. Fennel should be harvested before limescale, when his tuber is about fist-sized.
Tips & Tricks
Under certain circumstances, fennel harvested in midsummer can be harvested before winter, but it should be planted either in the wine-growing climate or in a raised bed.
