The casting of the fig requires intuition
Fig trees need sufficient moisture, but wet feet do not please the sun-hungry fig. When the drought persists, the fig will produce small, sapless fruits, the leaves turn brown and are discarded. Therefore, be careful when watering and when the soil feels dry.
Swallow figs in the garden
When washing, thoroughly soak the root ball of the outdoor fig, similar to a heavy downpour. In the next few days let the soil dry out so that only the root ball feels slightly moist. Then rinse the fig again thoroughly.
Keep container plants sufficiently moist
Potfishes need a lot of water when fully leafy, as they evaporate abundant moisture over the large leaves. Always pour so much that the pot ball is completely moisturized. A water supply in the coaster should only be exceptional cases on very hot days, as waterlogging leads to root rot.
Tips & Tricks
The fig is sensitive to calciferous irrigation water. Always use soft rainwater or filtered tap water.
