The African shrubs need a lot of sun in summer. In the shade, they form little or no flowers.
The long, slim inflorescences have to be protected from too much wind, as they break easily.
Although torch lacks tolerate short periods of drought, they can not cope with a location that is too moist. Make sure that the soil is permeable to prevent waterlogging.
Tips & Tricks
In winter, hardy torch lilies need protection against too full winter sun. Therefore tie the leaves of the perennial up together.
