Each cactus species produces offshoots that you can use to increase your collection for free. For a leaf cuttings, stem cuttings or Kindel actually takes root, special precautions must be taken. How to properly cut and plant a cactus lute can be found out here.
The best time is in the spring
If you want to propagate a cactus using offshoots, we recommend an appointment between March and June. In this way, the time window for the rooting is open long enough before the growth rest begins in winter.
Proper cut motivates rooting - That's how it works
Before you cut an offshoot, please wipe the blade with an alcohol-soaked cloth to kill any pathogens. Perform the cut with a pulling, continuous motion. A head cradle should be 10 cm tall while cutting off a full-sized leaf cuttings. A spherical child surpasses its diameter in height. How to do it right:
To stop a stronger sap flow, dip a kitchen towel in hot water and dab the cuts on the mother plant and offshoot.

If first root tips form on the cut during the drying phase, you can plant the offshoot. As a growing substrate, please use special cactus soil or a mixture of Pikiererde and lava granules in equal parts. Proceed as follows:
For the rooting phase your pupil takes a partially shaded spot. After a week of regeneration, pour the offshoot moderately with soft water.
Tips
If a large cutlery threatens to tip over, it is stabilized with a wooden stick. Lying offshoots rooted on the lower side, whereupon the cuttings bend over time in the direction of the light and flourish shapeless.
