Date palms are also popular houseplants because growth is relatively slow. They do not have to be repotted so often. While the date palm in nature is quite high, it remains relatively small in the care in the bucket.
Date palms grow slowly
In nature, the growth of a date palm reaches up to 25 meters. In room culture, it is usually no higher than five meters. The fronds are up to 60 inches wide.
It takes time for a date palm to grow out of its tub or pot. Therefore you do not have to repot date palms as often as other indoor plants.
It is usually enough if you plant the palm in a new pot every four to five years. Time for a move is always when the roots grow out of the planter or the date palm pushes over the edge of the pot.
Tips
The growth of a date palm in the tub can be limited. When transplanting the root ball slightly, the palm grows even slower.
