Suitable varieties for the Kübelhaltung
Not all Cannasorten are suitable for the Kübelhaltung. It is best to opt for Dwarf Cannas. These are usually not higher than 90 cm. The recommended varieties include, for example, 'Ambassador' and 'City of Portland'.
Planting time for the Kübelhaltung
Basically, you can plant Canna in a bucket all year round. However, it is recommended to plant the plant or its tubers in spring and to put them outside, for example, on the balcony or the terrace. As long as there is still frost at night, Canna must be quartered again in the evening. As a houseplant, this needy tropical plant is less suitable.
