In order to get the boxwood in the desired shape, you can purchase a suitable wire template in the trade. In the first years, the frame may still be visible or holes remain in the shrub. Both grow over time, but you can also remove the wire frame after the cut. Molding means a lot of work for the gardener
Do not start a shape-cutting in your garden if you do not have the time and patience (or a gardener!) To constantly take care of it. With each trimming remove all young, vigorous new shoots and weaken the plant. Fertilizing, watering and weeding are therefore essential. Use a slow-acting organic fertilizer (such as compost) that improves the soil structure and provides nutrients. In addition, a shape cut requires the more common grip on secateurs: At least twice a year, you should trim the pyramid, otherwise it loses its attractiveness. The first cut takes place between the end of April and mid-May, the second in July at the latest.
