Mildew helps to spray several times with diluted fresh milk. Horsetail straw and nettle sludge can also be used for fungal diseases.
In the case of a serious infestation, which can cause lasting damage especially to young trees, you can use fungicides which are available on the market. However, it should be used as sparingly as possible, because it damages beneficial insects such as bees and bumblebees.
Prevention through favorable location
At a favorable location the fungal infection is usually not so strong. In addition, healthy beech can handle it quite well.
When planting, choose a good location that is neither too dry nor too humid.
In case of extreme dryness, make sure that there is no waterlogging in the rain.

The most common beech occurring pest is the Buchenwolllaus also called Buchenzierlaus. It leaves a sticky coating on the leaves. The best control option is the settlement of beneficial organisms such as ladybugs and lacewings.
