How often you refill the water in the funnel and pour the substrate depends on the season, the location, the bromeliads and the temperature. A general statement is not to be made here. Regular substrate checks as well as the level in the cistern ensure that neither drought stress nor waterlogging occurs.
Replace the water in the hopper regularly
If excess water collects in the coaster, pour it out at the latest after 30 minutes to prevent waterlogging. The water in the rosette funnel should be replaced once a month.
Tips
Bound bromeliads are not watered through the funnel. In this case, spray the whole plant regularly with soft water at room temperature. How often a spray is required depends on the location conditions. The spectrum ranges from daily irrigation in the summer to week-long intervals in the winter.
