You can fertilize all plants that rely on many nutrients to grow. The manure is good for them. It strengthens them, stimulates their growth and makes them more resistant to diseases. Only weak eaters such as peas and strawberries should not be fertilized too often with the manure.
The following plants are happy about one or more gifts with nettles:
Pesticides were yesterday
Aphids are unlikely to be annoying, as are spider mites, ants and others. The nettle hives are quite right, because they can be used as pesticides. It does not necessarily have to be a slurry. Also useful is a nettle flush against pests. The acids which are contained in the stinging nettle hairs and are released into the water during the production of the manure (or of the broth) have an effect here.
Start the nettle manure
First, the nettles have to be harvested. This is best done with a pair of leather gloves and scissors. The shoots of the stinging nettles can cut them as a whole to just above the ground. If harvested in May, the manure will be extremely nitrogen-rich. Later it contains less nitrogen but more iron, calcium, magnesium and sulfur.

The stinging nettles are crushed and placed in the vessel. Then fill the vessel with the water. Stir well once. Now the vessel comes to a warm and sunny place. There, the fermentation process takes less time for the manure. Remember to stir daily and if necessary to stretch a net over the vessel that keeps vermin out!
Phew, that stinks!
After about 3 days, a strong smell of ammonia sets in. It is strongly reminiscent of fecal matter and makes the Nettle plantation a little attractive for some gardeners. Pour some rock flour into the jar - it will counteract the unpleasant odor.

Sift and ready to use
When the manure is ready, it can be screened. The decomposed plant parts can come to the compost. The liquid now serves as a fertilizer, which must first be diluted before it is used:
How often can the manure be fertilized?
You can feed your plants once a week or every two weeks. Heavy feeders benefit from a weekly fertilizer supply. This nitrogen- and potassium-rich slurry is poured directly onto the root area - preferably on cloudy days.
How are pests combated with the manure?
The manure is not just used for fertilizing. Even pests such as aphids and spider mites can be fought with her. The manure strengthens the structure of the leaves, making the leaves more robust and unattractive to pest feeding. In addition, the acids of the stinging nettle, which render the pests directly harmless, are stuck in the manure.
To do this, take a spray bottle and fill it with 1/10 slurry and the rest with water. Spray the foliage of the plants with it. This procedure can also be preventative. It is recommended to repeat the spraying several times, so that even newly hatched pests die off.
