The versatile fire herb is an excellent bee pasture and excellent cut flower. The floor-shaped flowers or fruit stalks are still extremely decorative in winter, whether provided with hoarfrost in the garden or in an autumnal dry bouquet in the vase.
There are over 100 species, of which three are mainly traded as garden plants. The yellow-flowering Syrian weed (Phlomis russeliana) grows to a height of about one meter, while the pink-violet to brownish Samos (Phlomis samia) likes to cover the ground. The tuber firwort (Phlomis tuberosa) grows relatively slowly and forms thick tubers

The Syrian fire-herb sows itself, if you let the inflorescences mature. So you do not have to worry about the propagation of this perennial. You can also pick the seeds and sow them elsewhere. The germination is quite straightforward.
Older fire-weed may also be shared. Often this is even necessary so that the plant does not expand too much. To do so, set the root ball free and sting one or more parts with a sharp spade. Replant these at any location.
