Harvest the seeds in the summer
The flowering time of the blue pillow lasts from March / April to May. Immediately afterwards, the seeds are formed. They are in the pod-like capsule fruits. Between June and July they are ripe and ready to be harvested.
It is best to cut off all the capsule fruits with secateurs once they have dried but not burst. At home, open the capsules and let the seeds tumble out on newspaper. The seeds can be dried or used immediately.
What do the seeds look like?
The seeds of the blue pillow are similar to the seeds of cabbage plants. They are small, colored brown-black to black, have a smooth surface and a roundish shape. If they are still light, they are immature. Harvest them only when they are dark colored!
Sow the seeds properly
